Overview
April 15, 2014 – State & Local Tax partner Stephen P. Kranz was approved as a member of the board of directors of the Tax Foundation. In this role, Mr. Kranz will provide invaluable experience to the Tax Foundation’s Center for State Tax Policy, which has become a strong and reputable voice for state tax reform. The Tax Foundation’s growing voice in state tax policy has led governors and legislative leaders alike to seek out their recommendations for change. Most recently, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo engaged the Tax Foundation in developing the tax changes that were included in that state’s budget.
Founded in 1937, the Tax Foundation is the nation’s leading independent tax policy research organization. Its distribution of information has helped provide policymakers and the public with the lay of the land in the ongoing debate over tax and budget policies and a greater understanding of the policies proposed. The Tax Foundation’s ambitious tax research and program agenda has had a large impact on state and federal tax debates.
