In the fall of 2018, McDermott hosted its first ever Days of Service event. Across offices, our colleagues worked with local charities with the goal of fighting hunger in our communities and around the world. This was the first coordinated effort across the Firm targeting a single issue on which we all made an impact, both through volunteer events and donations.
In total, we donated more than 1,800 hours, which resulted in 2,420 meals served, more than 16,500 pounds of food sorted, and 30,446 meals packed. “Hunger is a universal problem and it’s something that McDermott is working to alleviate in cities around the globe,” said Elizabeth Lewis, Pro Bono and Community Service Partner. Planning is already underway for 2019.
