Daniel (Dan) E. Alberti focuses his practice on complex litigation matters, including commercial disputes in the intellectual property areas of trademarks, patents, copyrights and trade secrets. He has represented clients in the semiconductor, telecommunications, medical device, dietary supplement and healthcare industries.
With more than 40 years of trial experience, Dan has tried a wide range of cases in all of the San Francisco Bay Area courts. His trial experience includes a three-month long patent infringement case, trademark cases from infringement to trademark licensing and multiple high-stakes commercial disputes, including arbitrations throughout the US in areas ranging from alcohol beverage distribution disputes to various breach of contract matters. He has been involved in numerous injunction proceedings throughout California.
Previously, Dan served as a senior trial attorney in the San Francisco District Attorney’s office, where he handled criminal and civil litigation, including a consumer fraud case that was at the forefront of the California Unfair Business Practices Act.
For many years Dan has been chosen by CEOs and general counsel to handle high-stakes litigation that required his experience and renowned strategizing capabilities.
Dan has served as a faculty member of the Hastings College of Advocacy, and continues to assist Bay Area students in mock trial and litigation related programs. Dan is partner-in-charge of the Pro Bono Committee in the Silicon Valley office, and he and the office have been honored with awards for pro bono work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
