CHICAGO - McDermott Will & Emery's Summer Associate Program ranked 10th out of more than 120 firms in The American Lawyer's 2002 Summer Associate Survey. The annual survey ranks the summer associate programs of the largest law firms in the United States by surveying each firm's summer associates. Overall, on a scale of one to five, McDermott Will & Emery received a score of 4.7.
In addition to its overall ranking, the Firm received recognition among various categories addressed in the survey. On the treatment by partners of summer associates, McDermott ranked second. For the level of interesting work, McDermott ranked third and on the overall rating as a place to work, the Firm ranked fourth.
"This stellar ranking is attributable to the hard work of the hiring partners, recruiting staff and administrative and support staff," commented Lydia Kelley, Firm-wide Recruiting Partner. "The attorneys who served as mentors to the summer associates also played a vital role in the program's success."
Summer associates from the Firm's Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. offices participated in the survey. Throughout its eight U.S. offices, McDermott, Will & Emery employed more than 40 summer associates and added more than 40 first year associates this year.
