BOSTON (December 5, 2005) — McDermott Will & Emery was ranked 8th in client service in The BTI Consulting Group's Survey of Client Service Performance for Law Firms: The BTI Client Service A-Team. In addition, McDermott Will & Emery is one of only six law firms honored this year as BTI Client Service Standouts. This exclusive list includes law firms that rank in the BTI Client Service 30 for four years. The distinction honors law firms that have delivered superior client service to their clients year after year. BTI interviewed more than 200 corporate counsel at large and Fortune 1000 companies about how they acquire and manage their outside legal counsel.
McDermott was ranked as "Leader of the Best" in the category of Advising on Business Issues, Anticipating the Client's Needs, Bringing Together National Resources, Keeping Clients Informed and Unprompted Communication. The Firm was also cited as in the "Honor Roll" for a number of other areas, including Best at Client Service, Best Performing Overall, Breadth of Services, Client Focus, Providing Value for the Dollar and Understanding the Client's Business.
"The cornerstone of our practice is superior client service and provide this by knowing our clients' businesses just as indicated in this survey," commented Harvey W. Freishtat, McDermott's Chairman. "This recognition verifies this commitment and we would like to thank our clients, both new and old, for this recognition."
The Survey of Client Performance was conducted independently by BTI and concentrated on client satisfaction, client relationships, law firm management strategies and client needs. The questions, strategically designed to allow for unprompted responses, asked general counsel to delineate the attributes, activities, factors and behaviors that drive client relationships.
