Alan S. Rutkoff was quoted in the June issue of Law Firm Inc. in an article regarding in-house general counsels for law firms. Mr. Rutkoff commented on a new trend where not only will a client who is unhappy take their business to another firm, but they will also sue the previous law firm for run-of-the-mill mistakes. As a result, general counsels will hire outside law firms to take care of these issues, but due to their vast knowledge they are very aware of how the outside law firm should operate. "I tell them that I'm going to read everything, that I'm going to need extra time to go through every paper. I tell them that I'm going to be a very difficult client," Mr. Rutkoff said.
