MIAMI (December 3, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP is pleased to welcome Michael J. Keller as the newest partner in its Miami office. Mr. Keller focuses his practice on patents, trademarks, general intellectual property and related transactions.
Mr. Keller has more than 17 years of experience in patent prosecution, counseling, and licensing primarily in the fields of therapeutic, diagnostic and medical device products. Prior to his recent role at Darby & Darby, Mr. Keller was head of the biomedical practice group at Lott & Friedland. He also started the patent department for Ivax Corporation, served as chief patent counsel for a start up company, was the intellectual property and food and drug associate for a multinational law firm and held a supervisory position in the Office of Technology Development at the National Cancer Institute.

Mr. Keller is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the Association of University Technology Managers, and BioFlorida where he is also a frequent guest speaker and presenter.
Mr. Keller received his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law and his B.S. in biology from the University of Georgia. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia and a registered patent attorney.
