NEW YORK (October 28, 2010) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP is pleased to announce that The Best Lawyers in America, a legal, peer-review publication, has named three of the Firm’s partners as “Lawyer of the Year” for 2011 in their respective disciplines. Henry (Terry) Christensen III was named Best Lawyers’ Trusts & Estates Lawyer of the Year for New York, and Gary Scott Davis and Douglas Mancino were named Best Lawyers’ Health Lawyers of the Year in Miami and Los Angeles, respectively.
Best Lawyers created the “Lawyers of the Year” award to honor individuals in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only a single lawyer in each specialty in each community is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year.” These honorees have received particularly high ratings in the publication’s surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.
"These awards to Terry, Doug and Gary are extremely well-deserved and reflect their reputations as top-notch leaders in their respective fields. They make us all proud to be their partners and colleagues,” commented Peter J. Sacripanti, Co-Chair of McDermott Will & Emery.
Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers, said, “We continue to believe – as we have believed for more than 25 years – that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession. We would like to congratulate Terry Christensen, Gary Scott Davis and Doug Mancino on being selected among the Best Lawyers Lawyer of the Year for 2011.”
