IRVINE, CA (MARCH 28, 2011) — Intellectual Property Today, a leading IP publication, ranked McDermott Will & Emery as one of the ten most active patent prosecution firms in its annual Top Patent Firms survey (March 2011 issue). McDermott is the only general practice law firm listed in the top ten.
Specifically, McDermott is ranked 8th on this year’s list of top patent firms, which is composed of 327 law firms and individuals. The rankings are created according to the number of utility patents issued in 2010 where the firm or individual is listed as the legal representative on the issued patent. McDermott had a total of 1,928 patents issued in 2010, including 1,864 utility patents.
