BOSTON AND CHICAGO (October 13, 2011) – McDermott Will & Emery LLP is pleased to announce that The Best Lawyers in America 2012, a legal, peer-review publication, has named two of the Firm’s partners as “Lawyer of the Year” in their respective disciplines. Christopher M. Jedrey was named Best Lawyers’ 2012 Boston Health Care Law Lawyer of the Year and M. Read Moore was named Best Lawyers’ 2012 Chicago Trusts and Estates Lawyer of the Year.
This year's rankings cap off a great year for McDermott in which partners Henry Christensen, III and Gary Scott Davis were also selected as “2011 Lawyers of the Year” in the “New York Trusts and Estates” and “Miami Health Care Law” categories, respectively, in a separate list that was issued by Best Lawyers in October 2010.
After more than 25 years in publication, Best Lawyers now designates “Lawyers of the Year” in high-profile legal specialties in large legal communities. Only one lawyer in each specialty in each community is granted the honor of “Lawyer of the Year.” Those honored as “Lawyers of the Year” have received high ratings in the publication’s surveys by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
“Chris and Read are exceptional lawyers with outstanding reputations in the legal community. They share a commitment to top-notch client service and we are delighted to work alongside them,” said Peter J. Sacripanti, co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery, based in New York.
“This is a great and well-deserved honor for Chris and Read, but it comes as no surprise to those of us who have worked with them over the years,” added Jeffrey E. Stone, co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery, based in Chicago. “We are a stronger firm because of their hard work.”
Steven Naifeh, President of Best Lawyers, says, “We continue to believe—as we have believed for more than 25 years—that recognition by one’s peers is the most meaningful form of praise in the legal profession. We would like to congratulate M. Read Moore and Christopher Jedrey on being selected among the Best Lawyers’ 2012 Lawyers of the Year.”
Christopher Jedrey is partner-in-charge of the Firm’s Boston Health Industry practice, and national co-chair of its Academic Medical Centers practice. Mr. Jedrey is a member of the Advisory Committee to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Public Charities Division, Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a member of the editorial boards of BNA Medical Research Law & Policy and Taxation of Exempts.
