Benchmark Litigation provides general counsel at the country’s leading corporations, investment banks, and financial institutions with analysis of the best commercial and financial litigators and law firms in the United States. The shortlist of nominations was derived from peer review and client research conducted for the 2013 edition of Benchmark Litigation, as well as from supplementary questionnaires submitted during autumn 2012.
McDermott was the only firm to have two cases nominated in the “Regional Impact Case of the Year” category. This category recognizes cases for having “a profound effect on the business, financial or legislative climate of their home jurisdictions."
In addition, Sarah Columbia, head of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, was nominated for the "Northeast Female Litigator of the Year."
“McDermott is truly honored to be recognized by our peers and clients as one of the nation’s top litigation firms,” said Jeffrey E. Stone, co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery. “All across the country, our trial attorneys achieve outstanding results for our clients -- in and out of the courtroom. Many of the nation’s largest companies and sophisticated individuals entrust our lawyers with their most complex, important and sensitive litigation matters. We are particularly pleased to congratulate Sarah for an individual nomination that is so well deserved this year.”
“We also congratulate our many trial lawyers across the Firm for their contributions to McDermott’s litigation successes that have resulted in so many impressive nominations,” added Peter J. Sacripanti, co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery. “McDermott has long been a ‘go-to’ law firm for litigation across numerous practice areas, and as we grow, we continue to build upon our many strengths. Over the past year, we have added a large number of talented litigators, multi-year training programs for young trial lawyers, and the latest in technology to provide efficiency and litigation support.”
