NEW YORK (January 9, 2013) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP today announced that corporate lawyer Robert H. Cohen has joined as a partner based in the Firm’s New York office. Mr. Cohen, who joins from an Am Law 10 law firm, has nearly 30 years of experience representing issuers and underwriters in a broad range of corporate, M&A and financing transactions.
Cohen’s practice revolves around transactional and securities work for a broad range of clients, including initial and follow-on public offerings, registered direct and PIPE financings, private placements, bridge financings, equity line and reverse mergers. He brings extensive experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, 1933 & 1934 Act representation and licensing and distribution arrangements. A significant portion of Cohen’s practice is in the Life Sciences industry.
“Bob has a long history and extensive experience representing mid-cap public and private companies, as well as underwriters that serve them, in their transactional financing activities,” said David Goldman, partner and head of the Firm’s Corporate Advisory Practice Group. “Much of his practice is in the Life Sciences which we, as a firm, have targeted as a key industry group for growth, and he has a great deal of experience working with public companies—a particular focus for the Corporate group.”
“Bob is well known throughout the New York corporate marketplace and it is our pleasure to welcome him to McDermott,” said Keith Pattiz, partner-in-charge of McDermott’s New York office. “His move is part of our increased focus on expanding the Firm’s New York office, particularly in the corporate area.”
