June 12, 2013 - McDermott partner Arthur Sapper was named among "The 50 People Who Most Influenced EHS in 2012-13" by the editors of EHS Today, a nationally-known magazine in the environmental safety and health field.
Mr. Sapper focuses his practice on all areas of occupational safety and health (OSHA) law and mine safety and health (MSHA) law, including inspections, litigation, rulemaking, counseling and lobbying, areas in which he has nearly 40 years of experience. He regularly litigates before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission, the federal appellate courts and various administrative bodies. He has also testified several times before Congress on OSHA issues. Before joining the Firm, Mr. Sapper held the position of deputy general counsel of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. He is also a former special counsel and assistant general counsel to the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission.
