The project has been approved by the City Council of the Municipality of Cagliari and is a part of the local urban regeneration programme which is to be completed by 2019/2020. The 21.000-seat new arena will be eligible for the UEFA 4 certification and will therefore be able to host Champions and Europe League matches, as well as European championships and the Olympics.
The McDermott team comprising partner Marco Cerritelli and senior associates Valentina Perrone and Anna Vesco has extensive experience in advising banks, construction companies and public sector authorities in the financing of infrastructure and regeneration projects.
“We are very proud of this achievement”, said Marco Cerritelli. “This tells us that our work in the area of infrastructure, and our capacity to help public and private clients in realising complex projects has been noted and valued by the market. We would like to thank the Italian Football League and B Futura for the trust they placed with us. This is an innovative project which will hopefully inspire other football clubs and local authorities”
