August 23, 2017 – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Intellectual Property Partners, Fabio Marino and Mark J. Itri, have been selected by The Daily Journal for its 2017 ranking of “Top IP Lawyers.”
The Daily Journal’s list of “Top IP Lawyers” highlights California’s top lawyers practicing in the area of intellectual property law. The contest regularly receives over hundreds of submissions each year, and finalists are chosen based off of their impact in the area of intellectual property and for their achievements in “successfully arguing a novel theory of law, saving a client's business by winning a case or protecting the client's portfolio.
Mark Itri is based out of the Firm’s Orange County office and has extensive experience in the intellectual property and technology sectors. The Daily Journal selected him for both his “transactional work and patent prosecution for clients including Apple Inc., Alphabet Inc.-owned Google, Broadcom Ltd., [Halliburton], Hass Automation Inc., Lockheed Martin Corp. and Western Digital Corp. subsidiary HGST Inc.” Mr. Itri’s work includes directing the preparation and prosecution of patent application, preparing and filing IPRs, negotiating and drafting technology transfer agreements, joint development agreements and licenses, and providing litigation support for a variety of international and Fortune 100 businesses. This is the ninth time that Mr. Itri has been selected for this honor.
Fabio Marino is based out of the Firm’s Silicon Valley office and serves as head of the Firm’s northern California intellectual property practice. The Daily Journal cited him for “securing two jury verdicts in high-stakes intellectual property trials, as well as in related Patent Trial and Appeal Board proceedings and Federal Court appeals.” Mr. Marino has vast experience in a variety of technical areas, including computer networks, telecommunications, software engineering, e-commerce, internet-related technologies, computer architecture, digital circuit design, flash memory, DRAMs, parallel computing, 3D graphics and animation, medical imaging and artificial intelligence. This is the fourth time that Mr. Marino has been selected for this honor.
