September 12, 2017 – McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that partner Amandeep Sidhu has been recognized as one of 2017 “Best Lawyers Under 40” by the National Pacific American Bar Association.
Each year, the “BU40 Award” recognizes “talented individuals in the Asian Pacific American legal community who are under the age of 40. Honorees are chosen for having “achieved prominence and distinction in their respective fields – be it the practice of law, academia, business, civic and charitable affairs, the judiciary, or politics – and…have demonstrated a strong commitment to Asian Pacific American civic or community affairs.”
Amandeep’s practice is focused on complex commercial disputes with an emphasis on regulated industries, including health care-related investigations and litigation. He regularly represents hospitals and health care companies in investigations and defense of qui tam whistleblower litigation involving federal False Claims Act (FCA), Stark Laws and Anti-Kickback Statue in federal district courts throughout the United States.
Additionally, Amandeep is active in representing pro bono clients on a diverse range of clients, including working with the Sikh Coalition and Becket Fund for Religious liberty to end the US military’s ban on the service of observant Sikhs; supporting Breast Care for Washington’s efforts to increase access to services in Washington, DC; and working on cases related to the Executive Orders on immigration.
Earlier this year, Amandeep was named to The National Law Journal’s “DC Rising Stars” list, included on the Washington Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list; acknowledged as a “Rising Star” by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA); and recognized as one of the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business” by the Asian American Business Development Center.
He actively serves as a member of McDermott’s Racial and Ethnic Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Pro Bono & Community Service Committee.
