Samuel C. Ashworth* advises clients on contract dispute matters, commercial litigation and white-collar defense.

Sam has experience in numerous aspects of national security matters and investigations related to counterterrorism and foreign counterintelligence. As an intern at the National Security Division of the Department of Justice, Sam reviewed, for potential prosecution, open cases that involved American victims of overseas terrorism. He also wrote memos evaluating the capacity of foreign judicial systems to render justice to perpetrators of international terrorism against Americans, and regarding the status of pending investigations and open cases.

During his five-year tenure at the Counterterrorism Division of the FBI, Sam participated in priority counterterrorism and counterintelligence investigations in the United States and abroad.

While in law school, Sam completed an LLM program in Securities and Financial regulation, focusing on federal white collar crime and securities enforcement. He participated in Georgetown University’s International Women’s Human Rights clinic. He additionally researched issues of privacy, transnational organizations and treaties to examine their effects on domestic regulation and rights of citizens and corporations, focusing in particular on intellectual property rights.
