Prof. Dr. Paul Melot de Beauregard provides legal advice on all labor and employment law matters, including litigation. He is head of McDermott’s Employment practice in Munich.
Paul advises clients on the entire spectrum of national and international labor and employment law, focusing on restructuring, transactions and negotiations with trade unions and works councils. He also advises on benefits and service agreements with board members, managing directors and senior executives, as well as on compliance issues, operational pensions and outsourcing.
Paul counsels companies on the liability of board members and managing directors, including directors and officers liability insurance (D&O), as well as on compliance with the legal framework at all company and group levels. He has longstanding experience with separation and liability processes in and out of court.
In addition, Paul advises on data privacy law. He has significant experience with all issues of data privacy at the workplace, including the negotiation and implementation of approval processes, data privacy policies and the relevant inter-company agreements. He also advises on data privacy violations and liabilities.
Paul leads and coordinates the Firm’s pro bono work in the Munich office. He is a board member of pro bono Deutschland e.V., an organization primarily supported by law firms advocating for the establishment and promotion of pro bono work in Germany. He also teaches at the faculty of law at FernUniversität Hagen as honorary professor.
