Jon Dean focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including patent infringement and trade secrets cases, antitrust actions, class actions, securities matters, unfair competition cases, employment actions and health care litigation matters. Jon is a former prosecutor and an accomplished trial lawyer. He serves as trial counsel on both complex civil and criminal litigation matters.
Jon also represents companies and individuals in connection with civil and criminal government investigations, including investigations by the US Department of Justice, the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General, and local district attorneys. These matters have included alleged False Claims Act violations, securities fraud claims, banking fraud matters, other fraud-related matters, trade secrets matters, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations.
Jon previously served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Andrew Hauk, Senior Judge and Chief Judge Emeritus, of the US District Court for the Central District of California. He also previously worked for the Honorable Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
Jon is very active in the Southern California legal community, and also serves as chair of the Los Angeles office’s Pro Bono Committee. He has previously served on the boards of directors of the Western Justice Center and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
