David (Dave) Henry Dolkas is an intellectual property litigator and trial lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in numerous jury trials involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract and product liability. Dave has tried more than thirty jury and judge trials as lead counsel and obtained defense verdicts in several of those matters. Dave has represented technology and pharmaceutical companies in numerous patent infringement matters.
Dave is a recognized thought-leader in the field of managing and presenting complex litigation and intellectual property litigation. He is the author of Managing Complex Litigation: a Guide to MAP (Managing, Analyzing and Presenting) a Complex IP Case, first published by LexisNexis in January 2014 and now in its third edition. Dave served as a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group (10) on Patent Litigation and co-authored the group’s chapter on the management of patent trials. From 2002 to 2014, Dave has served as an adjunct law professor at Santa Clara University School of Law, where he taught a course on managing complex intellectual property (IP) litigation. Dave speaks frequently at bar and professional association meetings held across the country on the topics of managing, analyzing, and presenting complex litigation.
