Robert (Rob) Goldstein focuses his practice on private equity and leveraged buyout transactions, mergers and acquisitions, distressed investing, PIPEs transactions, and capital markets and general corporate representations.
Robert’s recent M&A representations include: the sale of Baker & Taylor Corporation to Follett Corporation; the sale of Pretium Packaging to affiliates of GenStar Capital, the sale of Pouschine Cook portfolio company Great Lakes Healthcare to Wellspring Capital Partners; and Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc. in its sale to affiliates of Tilman J. Fertitta, which was recognized by Global M&A Network as the “Americas Industry Real Estate Hospitality Deal of the Year” in 2012.
Rob is recognized as leading lawyer handling private equity buyouts and is often invited to write or speak on topics of interest to the industry. He authored “Distressed M&A: Lots of Distress and Not Much M&A — But Some Interesting Opportunities for Creative Private Equity Dealmakers” for Private Equity Developments. His recent speaking engagements include presenting on due diligence and minimizing post-acquisition disputes; current trends in M&A, PIPEs and co-investment transactions; distressed investment opportunities in oil and gas; and energy funds as a new growth area for private investment funds.
While in law school, Rob served as executive editor of the Sports Lawyers Journal and was elected into the Order of Barristers in 1995.
