Eric Hageman* focuses his practice on complex litigation matters.
Before joining McDermott, Eric served in the Office of the West Virginia Solicitor General, where he assisted in representing the State in the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States. He assisted in drafting merit briefs to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, as well as amicus briefs to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals regarding states’ power to regulate sanctuary cities. Eric also drafted a response brief to a petition for certiorari in the Supreme Court of the United States.
Eric previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas D. Schroeder of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
While in law school, Eric served as the executive editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. He was also a legal writing fellow and a research assistant.
