Despite the severe reduction of feed-in tariffs for photovoltaic powerplants, the annual installations of solar plants in Europe reached a new record in 2011 with approximately 22 gigawatts installed. Recent market research suggests that further installations of solar energy in European core markets will remain stable or decrease on the basis of feed-in tariffs. While Europe will find a path of transition from feed-in tariffs to market-based mechanisms of renewable energy incentives, new markets with higher solar irradiation become increasingly attractive.
McDermott Will & Emery is proud to host its inaugural Renewable Energy Forum to bring together key industry executives in the solar industry and seasoned McDermott lawyers to discuss the implications of the emergence of new attractive markets for solar energy and the transition of European markets away from feed-in tariffs to market-based concepts.
Topics to be discussed include:
- A utility’s perspective on solar energy in 2012 and beyond
- The move from feed-in tariffs to power purchase agreements
- A bankable model for power purchase agreement projects
- The future of solar—new markets, new project models, new opportunities
Join us for this interactive discussion of the latest issues facing the European solar market.
