Are Vaccination Discount Agreements Still Relevant?
“The Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO) has recommended a tetravalent vaccine to protect against influenza. Tetravalent vaccines will replace the predominantly used trivalent influenza vaccines. For contract doctors, this means that in the coming influenza season, they will be allowed to prescribe and in principle have to pay for tetravalent influenza vaccines at the expense of statutory health insurance (SHI). The question of which vaccine can be prescribed at the expense of the SHI is answered by the vaccination guideline of the STIKO recommendations. The insured's entitlement to a vaccine recommended by the STIKO is implemented by means of supply contracts (vaccination agreements)."
