Todd Solomon told an International Bar Association panel that, regarding the rights of LGBT employees outside the US, “it’s a very challenging issue of how you protect employees outside your walls, and there’s no good answer.” The best thing a company can do, he continued, is to be sensitive about the issue and engage the employee in the decision. “It’s probably best not to say, ‘Take it or you’re dismissed,'” Mr. Solomon added. “That could lead to a discrimination claim that would be ugly and messy for everyone involved.”
