Joanne Ludovici focuses her practice on all aspects of trademark and domain-name acquisition, enforcement and commercial development.
Joanne has more than 20 years of experience in the coordination and strategic implementation of worldwide trademark and domain name portfolios for large multinational companies, including those in the agricultural, alcohol beverage, computer software, construction and industrial products, consumer goods, energy, entertainment, food and beverage, home improvement, mining, pharmaceutical, security, sports and telecommunications industries. Joanne is routinely sought out for her substantial transactional experience in the global separation and disposition of million- and billion-dollar brands.
Joanne also counsels clients in internet-related areas, including establishing terms and conditions of website use, privacy policies, fan-site policies, contest rules and policing programs. She is routinely involved in the resolution of domain name disputes before the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), and has been involved in more than ten successful appearances in domain name dispute proceedings.
Through the Children’s Law Center, Joanne serves as pro bono counsel for pre-adoptive parents of children in the DC neglect system in matters before the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. In addition, she serves as pro bono counsel to the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC.
From 2010 to 2013, Joanne was head of the Firm’s Global Trademark Prosecution, Transactions and Strategy Practice Group, where she grew the group’s recognition as an industry-leading trademark practice, including rankings in World Trademark Review and The Legal 500.
