Michael Peregrine and Stephen Wu wrote this bylined article cautioning that, while healthcare organization compliance programs must focus on fraud and abuse, self-referral and reimbursement rules, “that sensitivity should not lead to, nor justify, marginal program emphasis on compliance with other laws enforced by health industry regulators.” The authors called for a “balanced” compliance program that covers “renewed federal enforcement of individual and corporate violations of the antitrust laws.”
