Stephen Ryan assessed, in this broadcast interview, the lawsuit filed by a Texas businessman against federal prosecutors and Postal Service inspectors alleging that their investigation of him harmed his First Amendment rights. “It’s a fascinating case because it has been up to the court of appeals six times in the past 25 years to get to the point where the case can be heard by a jury,” Mr. Ryan noted. “Prosecutors and investigators for the government sometimes step over the line.
