McDermott Advises FRIWO Group on Successful Refinancing

Frankfurt a.M., 14. May 14, 2020 – McDermott Will & Emery has advised FRIWO AG and subsidiaries, and its investment company VTC Industriebeteiligungen GmbH & Co., on the successful completion of a new financing arrangement. The refinancing sees the existing bilateral credit facilities rolled into a syndicated loan agreement due 2022. Lenders in the German banks syndicate are led by Commerzbank AG. Herter & Co. GmbH acted as debt advisor for the entire refinancing process.

The FRIWO Group, comprising parent company, FRIWO AG, and its subsidiaries, is an international manufacturer of premium technological chargers, battery packs, power packs, and LED drivers. The company additionally acts as system provider and a single-source supplier of digitally controllable drive solutions. Key areas of application include electromobility, mobile tools, medical technology and various industrial applications. The FRIWO Group is a portfolio company of VTC Industriebeteiligungen GmbH & Co. KG.

VTC, founded in 1992 and headquartered in Munich, is an independent investment company with a turnover in excess of Euro 500 million and around 3,700 employees.
