Sticky Problems Await Congress’ Return Next Week


James Moran said that, given the impact of political gridlock on the ability of Congress to pass a defense spending bill, “I think it’s going to be extremely difficult to get any appropriations bill done.” Noting the controversy over the popular military construction-Veterans Affairs appropriations in the House and Senate, Mr. Moran added, “If the easiest one to pass still has a lot of hurdles, I don’t see any way to avoid a continuing resolution that will take us past the election, at least into December.” Read the full article.
