Bella North focuses her practice on the public and private healthcare and life sciences sectors advising a broad spectrum of clients on health industry-related matters, including transactional (M&A, joint ventures and private equity) and regulatory and advisory matters.
Bella has assisted on a number of complex and high value UK and international healthcare transactions and has more recently supported independent healthcare clients on the establishment of digital health platforms, regulation of fertility services and pharmacy law.
Prior to joining McDermott, Bella trained and qualified at a specialist healthcare firm where she gained a wealth of experience advising NHS bodies, public and private sector organisations in healthcare transactions, clinical governance and regulation.

Providing healthcare due diligence support and advising on various healthcare regulatory matters in the UK independent healthcare sector in the context of investments and M&A, including private equity backed transactions
Advising an investment bank on its global roll out of a fertility benefits scheme for employees located in the UK, Asia and North America
Advising an international fertility group on regulatory compliance in the context of strategic global transactions
Advising an online pharmacy on the establishment of a new European wide model of medicines distribution
Advising a global provider of medical supplies, equipment and services to the maritime industry on UK healthcare and medicines regulation
Advising on a number of notable NHS transactions and projects, including the merger of Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS FT and University Hospital South Manchester NHS FT and the establishment of the Black Country Pathology Service, consolidating pathology provision across multiple NHS trusts into an ALO hub and spoke model*
