Shashank Krishna advises clients in the international energy, infrastructure and natural resources sector with a focus on Europe, Asia and Africa. His practice is focused on private M&A, joint ventures and project development and financing involving complex and high-value energy and infrastructure projects across the value chain. Shashank has experience in a range of industries such as power, oil & gas, LNG, refining and petrochemicals, infrastructure and metals, mining and commodities. In the power sector, he has advised in connection with independent power projects (IPPs) having an aggregate capacity of nearly 28,000MW.

  • Advised the Government of Nepal on the corporate, finance and project development aspects of six large hydro-electric independent power projects (IPPs) including $1.4 billion, 900MW Upper Karnali and $1.2 billion 900MW Arun-3 hydro-electric projects (nominated for the 2014 Energy Deal of the Year by Legal Business Awards and The Lawyer)
  • Advised a consortium of investors comprising funds managed by Allianz Capital Partners, Amber Infrastructure, Dalmore Capital and DIF on their successful joint venture and consortium bid to become the infrastructure provider for the £4.2 billion Thames Tideway Tunnel project in London (awarded Project Finance International’s 2015 Deal of the Year)
  • Advised BG group on the sale of its equity interests in three gas-fired IPPs in Malaysia and Philippines for $440 million
    Advised an EFG-Hermes portfolio company in connection with its proposed sale of its interest in the North Bahariya concession in Egypt
