Présentation
Jackie L. Toney focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation and related regulatory matters, with an emphasis on patent litigation in the biotechnology industry. She has considerable first and second chair trial experience involving claims of patent infringement, breach of patent, software and copyright licenses. She also handles trade secret violations, contracts and business torts. Jackie tries cases before juries and judges, and in arbitrations.
Before returning to private practice, Jackie served as vice president and general counsel for an international biocide company. That company produced products used in animal health, especially poultry, livestock and shrimp farming, and agribusiness. She managed regulatory issues for many products regulated by EPA and FDA, and their corresponding agencies and ministries worldwide.
Prior to her legal career, Jackie worked for years in the healthcare industry, first as a registered nurse and later as a case manager. Her education and initial work experience concentrated on pharmacology and critical care of patients.
Jackie maintains an active pro bono practice, particularly in matters involving domestic law disputes. She also served as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem.
While in law school, Jackie served as lead articles editor for the Georgia State University Law Review. She clerked for the Honorable Justice Hugh Thompson of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
