The States’ Inevitable Legal Assault on Quill

Stephen Kranz wrote this bylined article on how states increasingly focus on remote sales tax collection via attacks on the Quill nexus standard. “The states will continue their onslaught so long as Congress fails to create a national solution,” Mr. Kranz wrote, calling this “bad news for both bricks-and-mortar and remote retailers. Without congressional involvement, all retailers will lose any chance of reducing the compliance burden imposed by the rules in the thousands of local sales tax jurisdictions.”
