After Bernie Sanders Surge, Some Rush to Cash in on ‘Feel the Bern’


Joanne Ludovici said it would be “a silly waste of resources” for others to try trademarking the “Feel the Bern” campaign slogan of presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, since the Patent & Trademark Office will not grant a mark simply because someone has applied for one. “When something gets catchy in America, people want to capitalize on it,” Ms. Ludovici said about the Sanders slogan, adding that his campaign can likely use common law rights against those who unfairly seek to imply an association with the candidate.
