McDermott Ranks Among Top Real Estate Law Firms for Handling Highest Dollar Volume Sales in New York City
The Real Deal ranked McDermott Will & Emery LLP among the top ten law firms for handling the highest dollar volume of real estate purchase transactions in New York City. McDermott’s ranking was based on the firm’s representation of buyers in over $511 million in real estate deals between May 1, 2016 and April 30, 2017.
Recent engagements include representation of long-time client Ian Schrager Company in the joint venture development with the Witkoff Group of the newly-opened Public New York Hotel on the Lower East Side, as well as assisting another long-time client, RFR Holding, in the acquisition of an office building at 95 Morton Street, and a sale-leaseback transaction for the 11 Howard Hotel.
The real estate group has also assisted client, Akelius Real Estate Management, in a number of recent multi-family acquisitions in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including purchases of a 117-unit building in the Gramercy Park area and 245 units in two contiguous Chelsea buildings on the same day.
