Ralph DeJong called it “intuitive” that the government would try to use a study of allegedly excessive executive compensation at tax-exempt hospitals to reduce salaries and save money for the Medicare Trust Fund. However, he continued, “in our experience, the providers are able to show that their compensation practices for executive leadership are competitive with market practice and are the result of a very supportable practice of demonstrating fair-market value.” Read the full article
