Yelena Bekker focuses her practice on the audit of asbestos bankruptcy trust claims and personal injury claims processors. She has experience leading a team of attorneys, paralegals and data analysts in conducting complex compliance evaluations and working with financial experts in assessing future claims liability. Yelena works with trial teams in developing strategy, and participates in mediations and settlement negotiations.
Yelena’s experience includes managing asbestos-related personal injury claims under a matrix of settlement agreements covering hundreds of thousands of claims. Prior to joining McDermott, she served as general counsel for an international import and export company where she regularly defended audits and handled compliance disputes with government regulators.
