Overview
Jennifer Contegiacomo focuses her practice on all aspects of asbestos-related personal injury litigation defense. As a member of a national coordinating counsel team, she leads a group of legal professionals responsible for responding to nationwide discovery requests. Additionally, Jennifer participates in mediations and settlement negotiations, works with trial teams to prepare for trials and assists senior national counsel with the development of factual background for legacy liability and related defense strategy.
Jennifer’s earlier experience includes representing multinational clients in large international mergers and acquisitions, private placements, public offerings involving equity and high-yield debt securities, licensing agreements, joint ventures and shareholders agreements, as well as general commercial transactions. In this capacity, she worked with clients in a wide range of industries, including electronic commerce, fashion apparel, manufacturing, packaging, solid waste management and recycling, mining, telecommunications, biotechnology and health care.
During law school, Jennifer was an articles editor for the Law Review and a member of the executive board of the Moot Court Association.
Results
- Centralized discovery activity for an active national mass tort litigation docket
- Oversaw the creation of an internet-accessible, web-based database to produce responsive documents to opposing counsel in a nationwide docket of cases
- Established a complex asbestos trust claims audit system to handle a high volume of claims processed yearly
- Managed the settlement of more than 200,000 asbestos-related personal injury claims under multiple settlement agreements with more than 160 plaintiff firms for a Fortune 100 company
