Katrina (Katy) Crafton Fluet advises high-net-worth individuals, families and charities on all aspects of federal and state estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax matters, charitable planning and succession planning for closely held companies. Katy frequently counsels clients on the structure and implementation of complex, leveraged wealth-transfer techniques. In addition, she has extensive experience in lifetime and post-death estate and trust administration, including representation of individual and corporate fiduciaries, and individual and charitable trust beneficiaries. Katy also advises gay, lesbian and unmarried couples regarding their unique estate and tax planning issues.
Katy has lectured to regional and national audiences on a broad variety of topics in estate planning, tax reporting, the effect of spousal rights for property law and tax purposes and the impact of state legislation specific to same sex couples for federal and state transfer and income tax purposes. She is an active member of the Firm’s Pro Bono & Community Service Committee, and supports a number of local civil rights organizations. Katy was a recipient of the Firm’s Pro Bono and Community Service Award in 2010.
While in law school, Katy was an editor of The Elder Law Journal and a Harno Scholar.
