Overview
Grant Maxwell focuses his practice on general business litigation with an emphasis on complex litigation and disputes in the entertainment industry. In addition to managing and marshaling cases throughout all phases of litigation, Grant has experience preparing for and trying cases, whether in court or arbitration. Grant also has a significant amount of experience negotiating and resolving disputes.
Grant has represented major banks and financial institutions, large corporations, studios and production companies as well as their officers and directors, small business owners and celebrities, politicians and other individuals.
Prior to joining McDermott, Grant worked as in-house litigation and compliance counsel for a major automotive manufacturer and spent seven years at a global litigation law firm.
Results
- Won an arbitration and successfully pierced the corporate veil to hold officers responsible for contracts executed by various shell companies*
- Defeated summary judgment for a major partnership in a case in which contractual liabilities were asserted despite the absence of a contract itself*
- Arbitrated more than 150 cases before JAMS and AAA*
