Overview
Alex M. Spisak focuses his practice on complex civil litigation. Alex has experience with all aspects of litigation from initial case filing through discovery, trial, and post-verdict appeals in both Federal and State Courts across the United States.
Alex is a member of the National Coordinating Counsel Team representing a Fortune 100 Company managing the defense of its docket of wrongful death and personal injury cases stemming from its legacy asbestos liability. As part of this team, Alex assists with the development and implementation of case strategy and oversight of all aspects of the litigation, including fact investigation and discovery, integration of developing causation science, motion practice, expert witness development, defense of corporate representative witnesses, mediations and settlement negotiations, trials, and appeals.
Alex maintains an active pro bono practice representing clients seeking asylum in the United States before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Alex is also an active member of the Military Spouse JD Network, a bar association of Military Spouse attorneys advocating for licensing accommodations and employment opportunities for military spouse attorneys. Alex is married to an active duty United States Marine Corps Officer and completed a Permanent Change of Station move from McDermott’s Washington DC office to its Silicon Valley office of in the fall of 2020.
While at Harvard, Alex was a member of the varsity football team, where he was part of two Ivy League Championship seasons. Alex continues to be involved in football, coaching and refereeing in youth football leagues.

- Trial team member for defendant fiduciaries in eight day ERISA class action bench trial. Obtained rulings denying all injunctive relief and 97% of damages sought
