Overview
Tari W. Mills advises clients on complex US and global patent prosecution, patent strategy and intellectual property rights. She has extensive experience in the life sciences/biotechnology areas, including therapeutics, methods/process, medical diagnostic tools, medical devices and research tools.
Tari provides clients with patent drafting, patentability analysis, patent landscape, freedom-to-operate, non-infringement, and reissue services for life sciences and biotechnology inventions. She also counsels clients in intellectual property rights, strategic protection, freedom-to-operate and infringement matters. She reviews invention disclosures, research materials, scientific manuscripts, agreements and legal documents. Tari also prepares written documents and provides client communications including prior art search, portfolio analysis, portfolio status reports and infringements, patentability, reissue and other legal opinions.
In addition, Tari advises clients on intellectual valuation and strategic patent protection. She has experience in global patent challenge procedures including opposition actions in US, Asia, Europe and Australia.
Tari maintains an active pro bono practice, serving as an immigration attorney for Project Citizenship. There, she interviews immigrant clients and provides counseling on application, supporting documents and also helps them prepare for immigration interviews.
