Overview
Fitsum Tilahun focuses his practice on corporate finance matters. He manages all aspects of loan transactions, including representing borrowers, lenders, investors, financial institutions and private equity firms with structuring and documenting secured and unsecured credit facilities. In addition, Fitsum represents corporations and financial institutions in swap and derivative transactions.
Fitsum has experience advising public companies and boards of directors on compliance and corporate governance matters, including general corporate and securities counseling. He also has experience preparing and reviewing periodic reports, registration statements, proxy statements and other documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Fitsum has several years of experience in both a law firm and as in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 corporation. While in law school, he was an associate editor for the Northwestern University Journal of International Human Rights and externed for the Honorable Sharon J. Coleman of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
