Overview
Dr. Nils Christian Wighardt advises clients in various aspects of national and international tax law. He is an appointed lawyer, tax advisor and licensed tax specialist and advises entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, family offices, foundations, shareholders, owners, board members but also individual family members on issues such as company succession, tax structuring of domestic and foreign private and business assets, international tax planning, domestic and foreign foundations as well as non-profit organizations. Nils also advises clients in inheritance and corporate matters, tax litigation and tax audits.
Before joining McDermott Will & Emery, Nils has spent time in various renowned international law firms in Munich, Hamburg and Cape Town.
Nils earned a PhD from Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University, successfully completed an Executive MBA, and participated in a post-graduate research at the University of Oxford.
He is interested in Value Investing and has taken part in seminars at Stanford University.
