$1.2 Billion Settlement in FTC’s Suit Against Cephalon

Jeffrey Brennan called the $1.2 billion settlement in an FTC pay-for-delay case against a pharmaceutical company “certainly a big number” that the industry will take note of it, but added that its significance is largely in illustrating and reinforcing where the FTC stands on this issue. The FTC will use the size of the settlement to emphasize to the public that this is an important issue and that it will continue to pursue it, Mr. Brennan noted.
