McDermott was named one Law360’s Health Care Practice Groups of the Year. The Firm’s work guiding health-care solutions organization Premier Inc. through its initial public offering was just one of the 2013 accomplishments highlighted in this article. Practice Group head Stephen Bernstein observed that, as the Affordable Care Act and its system overhaul approached, attorneys in McDermott’s health care group helped clients get ready. “We had the bandwidth and experience to basically be responsive,” said Mr. Bernstein. “When health reform hit, our clients realized it wasn’t just consolidation, but the moving parts associated with reimbursements, health IP compliance and uncertainty. If anybody is going to know how the moving parts are going to work together, it’s McDermott.”
