Public Health Amicus Brief Argues in Support of Administration Position in King v. Burwell

McDermott provided a legal team that prepared an amicus brief for 19 deans and over 80 faculty members from schools of public health and public health programs across the nation, as well as the American Public Health Association, to support the Obama Administration’s position in the King v. Burwell Supreme Court case. The brief argues that the tax subsidies provided in the Affordable Care Act were designed to help qualified residents in all states, not just those who live in states that have established their own health insurance exchanges.
