Piero Carbone assessed Europe’s growth in direct lending funds. “We have seen some funds double in size after just three or four months. Now they have to find a way to deploy that money,” Mr. Carbone said. “That is not to say that funds won’t be able to find enough deals. Funds are deploying. But we will have to wait for a few years to see whether risk has been priced correctly.
