Sandra DiVarco assessed the legal risks that health care employers face for staff who treat possible Ebola patients, noting that while emergency departments are “used to dealing with anything you can imagine,” patients who are admitted may cause “some concern that staff may not want to get involved in that care.” Ms DiVarco added that providers who follow approved protocols for Ebola care can “say this is highly unique and we followed the guidance available at the time.
